This homeowner's asphalt roof in Plainfield, CT was about 25 years old and needed to be replaced. They reached out to us, and after a full inspection and one-on-one meeting with our Sales Inspector, part of our free estimate, this home owner chose to put Klaus on Their House with our full Klaus Roofing System. The homeowner chose IKO Dynasty Architectural Shingles in the color Granite Black. Here was a ranch home in Stonington, CT which had a lot of moss and lichen build up on its shingles. Both moss and lichen spores love to take hold and grow on the north side of trees, as well as the shady areas of roofs. Older, 3-tab shingles, like the ones used on this home, were not designed with any type of resistance to this type of fungal growth. Power washing and chemical solvents are not recommended as they will often actually take granules of asphalt off, and can even void some insurance plans!
