A chimney cricket is important because chimneys create a natural “dam” on the roof. Without a cricket, water, leaves, snow, and debris can pile up behind the chimney, increasing the risk of leaks, rot, damaged decking, and failed flashing. A properly installed cricket diverts water to both sides of the chimney, helping protect one of the most leak-prone areas of the roof.

Brown Roofing prepped the garage roof with protective underlayment and clean edge details, creating a watertight foundation before the finished roof system was installed. The completed black metal roof adds durable protection, sharp curb appeal, and a clean water-shedding finish above the garage doors.

The roof on this Seymour, CT home was covered in snow. Beneath the snow, the roof also had white spots in many areas. The roof was upgraded with IKO Dynasty Summit Gray shingles, adding stronger protection and a uniform finished appearance.
