A foundation was becoming unstable in Lake Saint Louis, MO, as large cracks were forming. To solve this issue, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed. These are galvanized steel earth anchors embedded into the soil out and away from the foundation wall. Once installed, these will hold the walls in their current position and can be tightened to allow for improvement and straightening of the wall over time. These can be installed around obstacles on the wall such as pipes, sinks, or furniture. This is the best solution to straighten the wall over time, as it can fix severe problems and stabilize the foundation for good!
Foundation settling problems can be accomplished by placing the Foundation SupportWorks® pier bracket directly below the vertical basement wall. The pier may either be placed on the inside of the basement to save landscaping or on the outside to adjust for the wall rotating outward. In this case the problem was caught early and the push piers were installed in the interior. When installed this way, soil does need to be excavated, but our experts make sure to clean up after themselves and the homeowner will never even be able to tell that we were there...besides the fact that they will now have a straight, stable wall!
