A home in Rochester, Illinois, had a foundation that was starting to settle. Cracks started to appear on the exterior walls of the home, indicating moving ground soils. Woods came out and installed some new supports to rectify the issue. The Push Pier System will permanently stabilize the home's settling foundation and in many cases, raise it back up. Engineered steel tube sections are driven through steel foundation brackets, past unstable soils, to the solid bedrock beneath it. This will transfer the home's weight evenly on solid ground, rather than the unstable soils supporting it previously. With this installation in place, this home should be stable for decades into the future.

A foundation was bowing inward in Williamsville, IL, causing a large horizontal crack to appear and leak water. To solve this issue, the PowerBrace System was installed. Over time and with adjustment, this will permanently stabilize the foundation and eliminate any further inward movement. This will also reverse the effects of wall failure, straightening the walls to their original position and closing the cracks to prevent water leakage. This foundation will remain stable and secure for years to come!

The step foundation is when a crawl space is dug out to put HVAC and a water heater in the basement area instead of upstairs to gain more space in the living area.  The crack behind the hot water heater worried this Murphysboro, Illinois homeowner because the shorter step wall seemed to be moving inward.  Digging out a crawl space with a step wall is done because digging too close to the original wall footing, which holds the vertical wall in place from settling, would undermine the footing and cause a wall to collapse.  We installed our Foundation Supportworks Geo-Lock™ wall anchors to help straighten the bowing wall.

John T was concerned when he noticed that his basement walls were beginning to bow. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Brandon B was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Bradly P installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor in John’s basement. The Wall Anchor has two ends, one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house. The other end will attach to the basement wall. The device can be tightened and overtime will straighten the walls. 

Homeowner Gretchen D. of Murphysboro, Illinois was in the midst of renovating her home when she noticed signs of foundation settlement.
