System Design Specialist Stephen C. met with Scarborough, ME homeowners for a free estimate to address the water and moisture getting into their basement. They had damp dirt floors, along with crumbly stone walls. We poured a new slab to refresh the flooring, along with slab WaterGuard. We also installed a SuperSump Plus system that the WaterGuard channels water to. The SuperSump then brings water away from the home through an exterior discharge line, protected from freezing up in the winter with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the walls to give a protective vapor barrier, sealing up the crumbling stone wall. Our Spray Foam Specialist Travis L. installed Spray Foam on the rim joists to insulate the space, keeping moisture out and providing energy savings. Lastly, we installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to control the humidity and reduce moisture.
A Scarborough, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for support with both their basement and their crawlspace. The homeowner wanted to install spray foam insulation, as well as replace their old sump pump, and come up with a solution for the moisture in their crawlspace.
System Design Specialist Michael P. helped assess the basement and the crawlspace to devise the best plan. We installed SprayFoam insulation around the rim joists and top of the walls in both areas, which creates an air and moisture tight seal, as well as insulates the area. We replaced their old sump pump with a new SuperSump systems with UltraSump batter back up. Lastly, we installed CleanSpace with drainage matting in the crawlspace to encapsulate the area and protect it from moisture.
Our Falmouth, ME homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their failing insulation. The crawlspace was very wet with insulation failing and falling away from the home. We installed CleanSpace with drainage matting to encapsulate the crawlspace and keep it dry. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. We also installed SprayFoam Insulation on the rim joists to replace the old insulation. SprayFoam helps keep cold air out during the winter, making the space more comfortable, and saving the homeowner money on their energy bill. Lastly we installed a SmartSump pump system, along with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help control the moisture. The SmartSump pump removes any water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line.
Jackman, ME homeowners who recently purchased their home contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with encapsulating their crawlspace, as well as support for the sagging floors above. To waterproof the space, we installed CleanSpace with drainage matting, as well as SprayFoam insulation. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. SprayFoam creates an air and water tight seal, easily getting into nooks and crannies that traditional fiberglass insulation can't do as well. SmartJacks were installed to support the sagging floors. SmartJacks are a galvanized steel post system that custom fit to a support beam or floor joist to lift sagging floors.
This homeowner living in Strong, ME had been experiencing a musty smell propagating their home from their damp crawlspace. Without any form of waterproofing, the crawlspace was open to the elements. Looking for ways to remedy this issue, they contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we set them up with a free estimate. After hearing what their options were, they hired us to solve their moisture problem and our crew was dispatched to the home to get started. In order to keep outside moisture from building up in the crawlspace in the future, a vapor barrier would be needed. This began with Drainage Matting being laid across the dirt floor of the crawlspace. Next, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the space, sealing it off from the outside moisture. Now when water leaks in through the earth, the CleanSpace liner will block its entry into the crawlspace while the Drainage Matting provides channels for the water to travel toward where it can most easily escape back into the ground.
With a proper vapor barrier to hold back moisture, this homeowner should notice their moisture problem dissipate very soon. The CleanSpace liner will keep this crawlspace interior water-free for years to come!
