How Gutters Fail in New Jersey

Poor design, improper gutter installation, neglected maintenance and extreme weather conditions can lead to poor drainage and water damage to your home. Gutters without gutter guards to keep leaves and twigs out, will fail faster. Once gutters begin to clog, they attract insects and wildlife; built-up debris will cause them to sag or pull away. Once gutters begin to fail, the deterioration continues with each new onslaught of rain, hail, or snow, leading to leaky, rusty, unsightly gutters.

New Jersey weather: Between coastal storms and major thunderstorms in the northern part of the state, New Jersey homeowners need dependable, strong gutter systems to channel rainwater away from the house. Major seasonal variations in temperature and snowfall in New Jersey can also put your home at risk of ice dams.

7 Signs of Gutter Failure:

  • Clogged gutters or downspouts, from leaf clumps, pine needles, silt, moss, twigs, and more.
  • Sagging gutters that pull away from the home – look for bulges, holes (sign of hail damage), or missing components.
  • Insect and pest infestations, and bird or squirrel nests in the gutters.
  • Obvious leaks in the seams or joints in the gutters or signs of rust.
  • Water damage, including moisture, mold, or rot in the attic, roof, basement, siding, or landscaping.
  • Soil erosion and cracks in walkways, oversaturated soil, or damaged landscaping.
  • Structural damage due to water pooling near the foundation and leaking or seeping through foundation cracks or windows into the basement.

A well-designed gutter system prevents these problems. Ready to start protecting your home with a new Gutter Shutter System? Call today to schedule your free gutter installation estimate for your New Jersey home.

I want to vote for Victor Leon in your competition. As the lead person he did a great job assessing a problem in my basement and communicating with my plumber.

Quality first was very friendly, efficient and delivered exactly what was promised. The office staff and salesperson were knowledgeable and friendly. The crew worked very hard and did a great job in cleaning up before leaving. I'm waiting for the first rainfall to see the items I had corrected in action, but feel confident my basement will be dry.

everyone did a great job at what they were assigned to do. The information sent prior to the visit by the sales rep. was worth the read. I learned much from that book and did have a much better feeling of security and understanding after reading the book. A must for all, prior to appointment with sales rep. The assistance of the book helped me make better decisions, ask better questions at the time of the interview. Sales person was very knowledgable about your products, what would be best for my paticular situation. Had lots of experience, assured me all those working for quality first basement systems, must take the mandatory training. You do not hire subcontractors..wonderful to know. I am so tired of that. I was provided with cell numbers, email addresses and what to expect comments from all involved. The office staff knew just where to direct my calls and did so promptly. The installation crew were, professional, polite and patient with helping me to understand how and why all the products I purchased were suited to my needs. I liked the one on one service; however, I did and do not like being sent a questionaire asking me if I would like to speak to the contractor prior to the installation...I did not send this back, but did call. Of course I wanted to speak to the installer. I was investing in a system that was going to save me much security in knowing I would no longer have to be worried about my floors buckling, the sub pump not working, having to deal with a flooded yard, having the water that was discharged from the side of my house, and running right back into the crawl space, not to mention in the spring an fall how wet my floors became because of the moisture in my crawl space. I cannot wait for the next heavy rain to see how the system works and I just love that very quiet sub-pump, yeap, I think Q first and I will have a good relationship.

I had to downgrade my installation at the last minute due to not getting as much aid from FEMA that I was hoping for. Quality 1st Basement Systems and salesmam John Schweitzer were more than understanding and went out of their way to adjust accordingly to get the most important parts of the job done at the budget I had. And they did a great job in my flooded crawl space. BRAVO TO A 1ST RATE COMPANY!!!
