Ms. Pépin discovered an important humidity problem in her crawlspace at her Saint-Julienne house, when she got it inspected after putting it up for sale. Her sump pump system turned out to be unreliable and caused a lot of water infiltration as well.
She contacted Systèmes Sous-sol to find a solution to her sump pump problem.
To solve Ms. Pépin's humidity and water problems, our team of basement experts installed a new SmartSump sump pump system featuring a ⅓ HP Zoeller cast iron main pump capable of pumping 9,465 liters of water per hour at a height of 5 feet.
In order to waterproof her crawlspace better, our team installed as well an EZ flow crawlspace drain after digging a trench all along her foundation walls. This drain similar to a French Drain installed on the inside of a crawlspace, captures the water that could accumulate or infiltrate away from the sump pump and then directs that water to the SmartSump sump pump when the water cannot flow by itself to the pump.
Finally, our team installed our CleanSpace membrane which insulates the house from the earth and blocks out moisture. Cleanspace also gives a clear and clean appearance to the crawl space.
After a building inspector did a full house inspection on Ms. Pépin Sainte-Julienne property, he discovered an important humidity problem in her crawlspace. Since she wanted to sell her house, this could have prevented the sale from happening. Her sump pump was not reliable and the 6 mil membrane installed in her crawlspace was in a very bad shape.
She contacted Systèmes Sous-sol to find a solution to her humidity problem.
To solve our client's humidity and water infiltration problems, our team of basement experts installed a new SmartSump sump pump system, an EZ flow crawlspace drain along the foundation walls and covered the whole crawlspace with our CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation membrane.
This helped prevent water infiltration and cut off the crawlspace and house completely from the earth's humidity.
Ms. Pépin now enjoys a dry crawlspace and can sell her house without any issues.
This Côte-Saint-Luc customer needed an assessment from our company for a mold-to-crawl problem. When you see traces of mold in the crawl space, this is a sign that you need to dehumidify the space efficiently and permanently. As the crawl space is a space built in a hole in the ground, the water pressurizes and infiltrates through the ground and pores of the concrete.
Our waterproofing solutions solve these problems at the source. The CleanSpace drainage mat and vapor barrier membrane are installed on the floor to prevent water vapor from escaping into the air. We install on the walls the SilverGlo insulation which is an insulation board composed of graphite particles and which is covered with a radiant barrier to preserve the heat inside. It is a product that saves you a lot of energy consumption. Finally, the SaniDry dehumidifier keeps the space at an optimal relative humidity level. It is a system that empties automatically through a water drain pipe.
If you have a vented crawl space, especially in a humid climate, it most likely has moisture problems.
Moisture might come from several sources, such as uncovered soil, foundation walls, foundation vents and more.
Encapsulating your crawl space with quality products engineered for this space is the best way to keep it dry and clean.

Facing rot wood in their crawl space, a worried homeowner in Saint-Alexis, QC, turned to us for a lasting fix. The potential structural damage was quite severe. Our solution? We installed SmartJack for reliable support, wrapped the area in CleanSpace to seal out moisture, and insulated with SilverGolo for energy efficiency. The transformation, evident in the after photo, not only rectified the issue but also ensured their home's stability and comfort for years to come.
