Mr. Lalonde contacted Systèmes Sous-sol Qc, because he saw that his foundation walls had cracked. The cracks were horizontal and stair-like . He also noticed that one of the walls was curved towards the interior of the basement.
The solution was to stabilize the failing foundation walls with our PowerBrace. This system will also allow a potential straightening of the walls over time.
Our client had a foundation problem. The hydrostatic pressure had bent the foundation of his walls in the basement.
After looking for solutions on the internet, she decided to contact Système Sous-ol. An appointment was set and a specialist went to do an assessment.
In order to fix the problem, PowerBraces were needed. It was necessary to support the foundation walls first and then straighten them.
Thanks to our company, our client solved her foundation problems and can now enjoy now a safe house.
In Amherst, our client was facing an increasingly worrying problem: a sagging crawl space, warped floor joists, and visible cracks in the walls and ceilings on the ground floor. These signs revealed a weakening of the load-bearing structure, a very common problem in old crawl spaces where moisture, wood rot, and unstable support pillars compromise the solidity of the house.
To permanently correct the situation, the Systèmes Sous-sol Québec team installed the SmartJack™ system, an adjustable galvanized steel structural reinforcement solution designed to support and straighten floor beams and joists. This system offers high load capacity and can be adjusted over time to ensure the home's long-term stability.
Thanks to this installation, the crawl space is now solid, secure, and compliant with modern structural standards. The ground floor has been restored to its original level, eliminating sagging and vibrations caused by lack of support. This transformation demonstrates how Systèmes Sous-sol Québec helps homeowners in Amherst and across Quebec correct floor sagging, prevent structural damage, and reinforce the durability of their homes with solutions such as SmartJack™.
Problem
Mr. Lincourt wanted to have the block foundation walls of a house he needed to buy inspected, as one of the walls were sloping inward into the basement and some blocks were also pushed inward due to external ground pressure.
Solution
In order to stabilize and reinforce problematic walls, our team of experts installed our galvanized steel PowerBrace beams on the foundation walls. Attached to the floor and joists, the walls got stabilized. There is a clamping device on the PowerBraces to tighten them and slightly straighten the walls over time in order to return them to their original position.
Our client from Brownsburg noticed that the walls of his foundation were bending inward, and knew that he needed to fix this problem immediately before it gets worse!
After contacting us, our specialist inspected the basement and recommended the installation of the best products that could repair this problem permanently.
Furthermore, we installed several PowerBrace support beams to stabilize the foundation walls and an ArmLock fasteners system that attaches CarbonArmor carbon fiber strips to the joist.
