Cracks in a foundation in Mercier, Qc
Our client from Mercier had cracks in her foundation. He also noticed slopping in some of his first level floor, which is due to an underlying problem in his crawl space.
Our technicians led by foreman Jerry have then installed 7 SmartJack support pillars.
The SmartJack is a support beam designed by engineers that adjusts to the exact height between the solid base and the support beam at the top.

The problem
The foundation walls of Mr. Milette's house cannot endure the pressure of the soil. Two foundation walls were slightly arched towards the interior of the basement with a long horizontal crack in the middle of the walls.
The solution
Support and strengthen the walls!
The solution for our client was the installation of 8 PowerBrace beams as well as the Carbon Armor reinforcement device. PowerBrace beams are a patented device designed to support foundation walls and provide potential straightening over time. It is a permanent and reliable solution. And then the CarbonArmor device was applied in order to reinforce the two cracked and slightly arched walls.
With this solution, Mr. Millette has foundation walls that will not budge.
Encapsulating a crawl space and supporting it with our SmartJAcks system in Laval, Qc
Ms. Méndez contacted us to repair her crawl space. We had to support its floor because it was sagging and to encapsulate the crawl space because there was moisture. We installed SmartJack galvanized steel beams to reinforce the floor structure. Then, in order to properly isolate the crawl space from the outside air, we covered the walls with insulating panels. Next, we encapsulated the crawl space with a drainage membrane and a vapor barrier membrane to prevent moisture from rising to the upper floors. The remaining moisture will drain into the sump pump system that we installed.
