This is another crawl space that was suffering from water infiltration.
When water had invaded the place, it had affected badly on the floors in too many areas, causing it to sag.
We have solved this crawl space problems by installing a drainage membrane on the floor to help water find its way to the drainage system. Then, we covered the floor with a CleanSpace membrane, which mainly serves to prevent water vapor from leaving the floor and rising to the upper floors. Next, we installed SmartJack systems, which are galvanized steel beams used to support the sagging floor. Finally,we had installed SmartDrain drainage systems, which are used to get rid of infiltrating water.
Now that our work is done, the place is completely encapsulated!
Mrs. Monique B. from Gatineau called us to tell us about her problems related to mold and moisture in her crawl space. Our crew then proceeded to install a CleanSpace membrane, a SmartSump pump system, and two SmartJack support pillars. They also applied Mold-X Neutralizer to areas affected by mold. Our customer can now enjoy her basement without having to worry about water getting in!
In L'Ange-Gardien, a homeowner was dealing with persistent moisture infiltration in their crawl space—a condition prone to compromising both structural integrity and indoor air quality. Recognizing the urgent need for remediation, our team employed the advanced CleanSpace encapsulation system, a comprehensive solution engineered to create a durable, moisture-impermeable barrier. This system features a 20-mil, antimicrobial-treated vapor barrier liner, meticulously sealed along all walls, piers, and penetrations, effectively mitigating vapor transmission from the soil. The "after" photo reveals a transformed environment, showcasing the high-performance encapsulation and a measurable improvement in air quality.
It’s always necessary to encapsulate your crawl space. And when our client from Montpellier called us, she told us that she was experiencing high humidity levels, especially during winter times when the floors became colder than normal.
After our free inspection of the place, we knew that the problem was simply the presence of water vapor and high humidity caused by a lack of insulation and floor covering in the crawl space. And so we have recommended a full encapsulation system that will not change the crawl space only but the entire health of the house.
At the start, our production team installed SilverGlo insulation panels on the walls. These panels will reflect the heat into the crawl space. And so the house walls and floors will be less warm.
And then we have covered the soil with a vapor barrier called CleanSpace. This membrane is a 20mil plastic coating composed of several layers of plastic with different characteristics of flexibility and strength. It also has an antibacterial additive that blocks the growth of mold and fungi on the coating.
PROBLEM
A house in Papineauville had a damp crawl space. There were water infiltrations coming from the walls, which caused mold growth. During our free inspection, our specialist Houssem took care of the visit. Descending into the crawl space, he was able to identify mold, causing an unpleasant odor. Serious structural damage that could even affect the foundation of the house could occur in case no action was taken.
SOLUTION
Encapsulation of the crawl space using the CleanSpace system. This involves covering the crawl space floor with a drainage membrane and a vapor barrier on top:
The drainage membrane has a cellular surface that helps transport infiltrated water towards the drainage or sump pump.
- The vapor barrier prevents the evaporation of infiltrated water, thereby eliminating excessive humidity. It also includes an antimicrobial additive that prevents mold growth.
- To ensure good thermal insulation of the crawl space walls, we installed SilverGlo wall insulation panels. In addition to resisting thermal conduction, SilverGlo panels have a radiant barrier that reflects heat inside the crawl space for energy savings.
