A homeowner in Farmingdale, Maine contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their failing foundation wall. They wanted the space to be safe and to stay dry so they could store their belongings without water damage. The block wall was leaking and starting to bow. We installed our patented StableLock Wall, which is a new concrete wall poured next to the failing wall to stop any further movement. We use specialized bracing to keep the home properly supported and safe. 

We helped homeowners in Madison, Maine who had a bowing foundation wall that was getting worse over time. They were concerned the wall would completely collapse, putting their home in jeopardy. We poured a new StableLock Wall against the failing wall. StableLock is our patented system that has special bracing to support the home and prevent the original wall from shifting further. We can install StableLock Wall without any major excavation or lifting the home, saving money and reducing disruption to the homeowners.

This Madison, Maine basement had sagging floors from the home above due to a heavy kitchen remodel. The homeowners noticed their floors were getting worse and wanted to find a way to protect them. We installed SmartJacks, which are galvanized steel posts custom fit to the home. The protective coating on the posts prevents them from rusting over time. SmartJacks not only stabilize the home and floors, they can be adjusted to lift and level the floors back to their original position. Each SmartJack can support 60,000 lbs of load, providing ample support to the home.

We recently helped homeowners in Bath, Maine with this crawl space that had sinking floors above. Moisture in a crawl space can cause great damage over time, leading to mold or wood rot of the supporting beams for the home. Once moisture has weakened the beams, the floors above will sink and sag. We installed SmartJacks with a new supplemental beam to support these floors. SmartJacks are custom fit galvanized steel posts that can even be adjusted to lift the floors back to level.

After exploring the issue in their basement below, they also found rusted lally columns and crumbly walls. To give support to the floors above, as well as the failing walls, we installed StableLock Wall system. StableLock is a poured concrete wall that abuts the failing wall, preventing it from bowing or shifting further. We can install the StableLock wall with minimal disruption, compared to the traditional method of having to lift the home. StableLock is also much more cost effective since we don't have to do any lifting. The homeowners are happy to have flat floors and know that their home is protected for years to come!
