At this Annapolis home, this returning customer needed a vent over for the crawl space entrance. We dug out the old entryway of dirt and old wooden boards to replace with a new wood barrier, and then filled it in with stone instead of dirt. Our team then installed the vent cover over the opening of the crawl space, which is a durable plastic plate that will never rust, rot, or need paint.  

At Quality 1st, we recently tackled a challenge faced by a homeowner in Annapolis, MD, who was dealing with an old and decaying vapor barrier in their crawl space. The dirt floor beneath their home was not only a concern for the integrity of their property but also for their health, as damp crawl spaces can lead to mold and poor air quality inside the home. Our System Design Specialist visited the home, where a thorough examination revealed the issues at hand. At this home, the gutters surrounding the roof were getting water backup due to the constant leaves and debris getting clogged. This homeowner had a previous drain outside of the garage and it was in need of replacing. The surface drain lies flush to the ground and has a drainage channel that will flow the water down to the sump pump system, which then will pump out the captured water. 

At this property, the owner was removing old floor tile and had noticed that there were areas of dampness which caused mold growth along the walls and Rim joists. The sump system that was original to the home was no longer pumping the amount of water out that it was taking in, causing that area to be damp. We had our team go out to the home to remove the old rusty sump pump and install our TripleSafe Pump System with a battery backup.
